Dr. Jiamin Teng, was assistant professor in Tongji Medical University in Wuhan, China (1988-1994), Nihon University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan (1999-2002) and St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, USA (2006-2010). Dr. Teng is now an associate Professor in Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, LA, USA, Dr. Teng has been the Guest Professors for Tongji Medical College (2009- ), Nihon University School of Medicine (2015- ) and other medical college or schools.

Dr. Teng founded of the Tongji Graduate Student English Contest back in 1985 and had the contest continuously supported by TJMCOAA since 2007. Dr. Teng Served for the TJMCOAA as the Board of Directors and the President of 2008. Dr. Teng also served the President of CSSA in LSU (2002-2005), the President of American Chinese Association in Shreveport (2003-2006) the Board of Directors of St. Louis Modern Chinese School (2007-2011), and the Board of Directors of Multicultural Center in Southern USA(2003-2006, 2012- ) etc. Dr. Teng is also the funder and the President of Oregen LLC.

滕嘉敏曾任同济医大第二届研究生会学术部长，建立了同济医大研究生英语俱乐部，英语角，发起了同济医大研究生首届英语演讲大赛（1985），并促成了由同济医学院海外校友总会自2007年起的持续赞助。滕嘉敏曾任所在大学中国人学生学者联谊会主席，所在城市多文化中心董事，中华协会主席及中文学校董事等社会职务，是同济医学院海外校友总会董事，2008届主席。

滕嘉敏于1990年作为卫生部第六期世川医学奖学金研究生赴日，获日本大学医学博士学位后留任该校妇产科讲师，在不孕症显微外科手术，辅助生殖研究等方面活跃在日本学术界前沿。2000年来美国做博士后起从事多发性骨髓瘤肾脏病理的研究，建立了活体细胞6维图像系统，离体及在体肾脏试验模型，在细胞受体，信息传导，亚细胞分泌，细胞间质平衡等方面取得了成果，并在该病理变化中采用纳米微粒技术诱导细胞凋亡，干细胞再生等方面进行了深入研究及产业开发， 活跃在肾脏损伤与再生的世界学术和产业开发前沿。

滕嘉敏博士是母校的客座教授，美国 Oregen 公司创始人及董事长。
