Dr. Xia obtained her Bachelor degree in Medicine in 2000 at Tongji Medical University. She was a master student major in OB&Gyn at the Family Planning Institute from 2001 to 2002. Dr. Xie obtained her master degree in Human Nutrition and her Ph.D degree in Biology in Kansas State University in 2004 and 2008, respectively. From 2008-2011, she did her postdoctoral research focusing on heart development and congenital heart disease at the Department of Pediatrics in the University of Chicago. From July of 2011 to December 2015, she worked as an Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of North Dakota. Since then, she has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences in Texas A&M University. Her research has been focused on: 1. Molecular and genetics mechanisms of heart development, aiming on understanding the ontogeny of congenital heart diseases; 2. Molecular and epigenetics mechanisms how maternal nutrition, especially over-nutrition, affects the offspring health, focusing on obesity and obesity-related complications. So far, Dr. Xie has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles on high impact journals, such Developmental Cell, PNAS, Human Molecular Genetics, International Journal of Obesity, etc. She has also served as Editorial Member of American Journal of Digestive Diseases since 2014.

谢玲琳, 医学和生物学博士,于2000年在华中科大同济医学院取得医学学位， 于2004年在美国堪萨斯州立大学获得营养学硕士，于2008年在美国堪萨斯州立大学获得生物学博士。曾在美国芝加哥大学医学部儿科系进行博士后工作。于2011到2015年在美国北达科他大学医学院任助理教授。 2015年12月起至今在美国德州农机大学营养系任助理教授。她目前主要致力于先天性心脏病以及母体饮食和胚胎健康的研究，已经主持并完成了多项美国国立卫生研究院和美国心脏协会的基金项目。 并在细胞子刊细胞发育 (Developmental Cell)，美国国家科学院院刊 (PNAS)等专业杂志发表20多篇文章。
