Dr. Chen is a Professor of Epidemiology and Medicine at the University of Florida. He received his PhD in epidemiology and biostatistics from the University of Hawaii in 1993 after graduate from Tongji. He went back to Tongji to chair the Statistical Department for two years before taking a faculty position at the University of Southern California during 1997-2003. He worked in a research firm in Maryland in 2003 before taking a tenure-track associate profession position at Wayne State University in 2004. He was promoted to full professor with tenure in 2010 there and moved to the University of Florida in 2014. Dr. Chen was appointed as Public Health Specialist during 2014-16. With total funding of approximately $22 (50% from NIH), Dr. Chen has leaded and participated in over 60 research projects and published 220+ manuscripts in peer-reviewed academic journal, 8 books/book chapter. He has been collaborating with Wuhan CDC since 1997 and secured funding from US to conduct tobacco prevention research and HIV risk behavior among rural-to-urban migrants in China. His achievement in social capital and health behavioral research, quantum behavioral modeling, probabilistic discrete event modeling, construal-level theory-based measurement, GIS/GPS-based random sampling and geographic-based prevalence incidence and his perspective on dynamics of hormonal change in interpreting the risk of prostate and breast cancer add innovative methods and new evidence to medical and public health science.

陈心广目前在美国佛罗里达大学医学院和公共卫生学院任流行病和医学终身教授。同济毕业后于1993年获得美国夏威夷大学流行病和统计学博士。1994-97回国担任卫生统计学系主任。1997年-2003在加州洛杉矶南加州大学任教，2003年在马里兰一家科研公司工作一年后于2014年到密歇根的韦恩大学医学院任终身系列副教授，2010年提升为终身教授。2014年迁到佛罗里达大学任终身教授。陈教授于2014-16期间被武汉市政府聘为公共卫生特殊岗位专家。由陈教授主持和参加的研究课题累计60个，科研经费2千多万美元（50%由NIH资助），发表了经同行评议的论文200多篇，专著、专著章节、译著、百科全书章节等共9部/件。陈教授从1997年起一直与武汉市疾控中心合作，并得美国NIH资助开展青少年学生控烟研究以及社会资本和农民工艾滋病直播关系研究。他的很多研究成果给医学和公共卫生提供了新的知识和方法，包括社会资本、健康行为、前列腺癌和乳腺癌的荷尔蒙下降学说、量子行为模拟分析、离散事件概率模拟分析、基于认知建构层次理论的测量方法、GIS/GPS随机抽样方法和基于地理面积的发病率和流行率等。
